I do love Fridays, but today is going to be a long day. Our Annual Awards Dinner is actually a really fun event, where different business' decorate tables that showcase their product of service and over the years the competition has become incredible. To make things even more competitive we have open seating and the decorators are not allowed to sit at their own tables. We open the doors promptly at 6pm and the mad rush to find the perfect table is on.
The entire day was spent getting ready and fine tuning for the event. My roll is to handout the awards and shake hands. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. The 25 tables look awesome and the nearly 200 guest were all having a good time. The event went smooth and we kept the pace moving, so the evening didn't drag on. By 9pm we were done and we all headed home. It had been a 13 hour day and once again I was beat.
As for the chickens they had spent their third straight day in the pen and I knew they were going to want to be out all weekend. Unfortunately tomorrow I would be getting up and driving to Sublimity to meet my friend Robin (from Oklahoma), her mom and Aunt for lunch, so the chickens were going to be cooped up again.
