Day 275, Wednesday and packing to go home

Today was packing day and preparing the house to be closed up for the summer. In an earthquake prone area this means removing anything from the walls or shelves that might fall during an earthquake. We also bring in all patio furniture and flower pots. It is quite an undertaking when you think of all the pictures on the wall and lamps that need to removed and laid down.

View from the balcony at the Hogs Breath in La Quinta, CA.

We did manage to go out to dinner and when we pulled into the parking lot we parked next to a vintage 1965 VW bug convertible. The owners were standing next to it as it had a flat tire. We had gone to dinner with our friends from Enterprise, Oregon and we were in their car. This couple standing next to the bug saw the license plate and as it turns out there were from Oregon too. We all got to talking and we knew a lot of the same people. Even more interesting is they have a 1965 vintage trailer needing to be restored. I just happened to have a card for Flyte Camp Vintage Trailer Restoration in my wallet so I gave it to her. They seemed like great people who loved cars and trailers, can you get any better than that? Oh, she was even Norwegian and belonged to the Sons of Norway in Eugene!

Dinner was at a restaurant call The Hogs Breath and the food was excellent. It was nice to be sitting outside on the balcony with the misters going and enjoying the atmosphere. Did I mention that the temperature got to 101 today!?

After a great meal it back to home and to finish packing the car.
