Day 276, Thursday and on the road

A rest stop in the Eastern Sierra's

With car packed and loaded, we were on the road by 8am.  My parents are great travelers, Mom had packed enough food to get us all the way home, with snacks for every two hours.  My Father, had programed the navigation system on the cars computer and all I had to do was drive.

We of course had to plan several rest stops and enjoyed the opportunity to stretch my legs and straighten out my back.  Our trip took us up hwy 111, a slight detour through Riverside, California and then up Hwy 395 into the Eastern Sierra's.  The Sierra's are beautiful and the traffic was light and mostly free of large trucks.  My eyes are now trained to look for old trailers and I did see few, but most of all I kept thinking how fun it would be to drive this route pulling the trailer.

A 612 Scaglietti Ferrari in the parking lot of the restaurant.
After eight hours of driving we reached our over night destination of Carson City, Nevada.  We took our time getting settled in the room and then went to dinner.  Of course I was immediately taken by the 612 Scaglietti Ferrari in the parking lot of the restaurant.  Carson City, has some amazing history, lots of casinos and some pretty spectacular cars.

We were back in the hotel room by 8:30 and I was in bed by 10pm.  If I knew my folks they would be up at the crack of dawn.
