Day 534, Leadership Day

Today is our Leadership class day and I was out the door at 7:30 am to go buy donuts and creamer for coffee and then off to the class.  I had scheduled a full day speakers to cover the topic of Education, Technology and Workforce.

The new theater in Redmond's Ridge View High School.
The morning got off to great start and for the first time in the 5 months we had everyone in attendance.  I was shocked no one was sick!  I was feeling a little better and surprisingly I wasn't coughing.  We had a great lunch together at noon and then immediately following lunch we had the opportunity to tour the new Redmond High School.  The building is just about finished and the keys will be turned over in March to the School District.  The tour was the highlight of the day.  To say the building was outstanding is an understatement.  There was no expense spared anywhere!  From the state of the art Broadway caliber theater, with orchestra pit, three elevators in the stage floor and seating for 600, to Green Screen room, to the jewelry making room with stainless steel tables and on and on.  The architecture was that of a metropolitan contemporary art museum with a grand staircase, cantilevered rooms, curved walls, and a 60' high circular grand library with circular skylight.  There was no expense spared in any aspect of the building and it comes with a staggering $75 million price tag.  It is without a doubt the Rolls Royce of High Schools.  It is truly an amazing sight to see.

The rest of the day went great and everyone really liked what the content of the day.  Many said it was the best day to date, so that was very good to hear.

I nothing planned for the evening I was looking forward to another early night and being in bed by 9 pm.
